Ongoing: Defenders’ Day

Learn about the brave soldiers, sailorsa and civilians that held off a British Invation at Defenders’ Day weekend at Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine, 2400 East Fort Avenue. Highlights include a parade through Locust Point, living history with reneactors and a musical performance by the Army Field & Soldiers’ Chorus with fireworks afterwards. Admission to the Star Fort is $15 for adults and free for children 15-and-under. Friday: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

Get ready to yell BRUCE!!! at the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band rescheduled concert at Orioles Park at Camden Yards, 333 W. Camden Street. Sunday: Dog Cat Rat Race

Pedal and compete in the inaugural Baltimore Dog Cat Rat Race , a biking scavenger hunt that benefits the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter and Bikemore. The event is part bike race and scavenger hunt that rewards a mix of strategy and speed..Teams of 3-5 ride around Herring Run stopping at designated checkpoints to play games and earn points for their team. The teams with the most points will win prizes at the afterparty at Oliver Brewing,4216 Shannon Drive, where BARCS will also bring dogs that can be adopted to celebrate with riders. Wednesday: Symphony in the City

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will kick off its three free concert series with Symphony in the City at Morgan State’s Murphy Fine Arts Center, 2201 Argonne Drive. Music Director Jonathon Heyward will condcut the BSO through selections from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral,” and compositions by James Lee III. Future concerts include a tribute to Veterans on Nov. 20 at the War Memorial and a celebration of Black History Month on Feb. 7 at the Reginald F.
